Greta Stewart

Greta began her dance journey at the age of 3 in Ballarat, and commenced at The Academy of Classical Ballet in 2015 under the guidance of Kellie Fishwick-Roscoe. Greta has completed Graded examinations in both Cecchetti and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) from grades 1-5, as well as the RAD Vocational Graded Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate examinations receiving high merit and distinction. Greta has also participated in numerous RAD Awards such as the Audrey Nichols and Kathleen Gorham Memorial Awards. 

Along with Classical Ballet, Greta has also trained in Contemporary, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Acro and Lyrical, performing in Victorian Eisteddfods for over 8 years in these styles of dance as well as presenting in Classical Championship sections. Greta is a valued member of The Academy’s eisteddfod team and has been the recipient of numerous awards and has received great recognition at competitions and eisteddfods as a soloist and troupe member, including at Royal South Street in Ballarat. Greta has also taken part in many Masterclasses, including the Grampians Regional Masterclasses (GRMC) which have been taught by industry professionals from all over australia, as well as artists from The Australian Ballet.  

In 2022, Greta Successfully auditioned for Transit Dance in Melbourne where she then travelled each Saturday for a full day of dance during the school term. As part of the Transit Dance contemporary stream, Greta learned many different skills from industry professionals that train in contemporary full time, such as artists from Sydney Dance Company and Transit Dance alumni. These skills included new ways to create ideas which she was able to use to better her choreography in the future. Greta was able to be a part of two full length shows, titled ‘MOVE’ and ‘SUPERHUMAN’ with Transit Dance, where she gained knowledge and insight to what a full time contemporary show would be like. Also in 2022, Greta commenced VCE Dance at Loreto College and successfully completed Units 1 and 2 in year 11, and is currently completing Units 3 and 4 in year 12.  

Greta has a passion for dance and is excited to be a part of the teaching faculty at The Academy.
