In 2018, Samantha is entering her 28th year of gymnastics and acrobatic instruction. Having begun her career as a gymnastics coach, Samantha moved into the performing arts industry in 1997, working with dancers and dance teachers in the areas of acrobatics, strength and conditioning, and team development. Having worked with Thelma Williams, Tanya Attard-Dwyer and more recently Jason Coleman, Samantha has had the opportunity to contribute to the industry, developing dancers who work professionally in the industry, and supporting the development of pre-professional dancers. Samantha’s philosophy in developing dancers is holistic and stems from both experience and formal university qualifications in learning theory, leadership, exercise sports science and biomechanics.
Samantha holds a Bachelor of Arts/Science (Leadership, Fitness and Sport Specific Science) a Post Graduate Bachelor of Education and a Graduate Certificate of Principal Preparation. Samantha has worked with dance and allied health professionals to develop a systematic system of skill development in acrobatics and a program of strength and conditioning that builds solid physical foundations and prevents injury. Her commitment to progressive technique and safe skill acquisition has enabled a long and successful career in this industry and provided her with the opportunities to work with elite dancers across the country in a range of forums.
